“No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow”. ~Proverb
For many, winter is a sleeping and relaxing season: a season to rest and reflect on the achievements of the ending year, a season to plan ahead for the upcoming spring…
For centuries, winter was also a feared season where famine and starvation were common if people were not prepared by preserving and stocking enough food. That is why so many fall and winter celebrations revolve around food and harvest…and that is why the aim of the Food Action Coalition is to create resilient communities where all peoples reconnect with sustainable ways to grow, preserve and consume healthy and appropriate food accessible to all.
At the Food Action Coalition, we want to celebrate the spirit of hope and resilience living in all the gardeners and growers of the world.
May your gardens produce abundant yield, may your produce be shared with those in need, and may your skills be shared with all who want to learn.
Have all a wonderful holiday season!
“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”
~ Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
