October News…
And these are our achievements for October 2014!
- We have now purchased the food truck and it can be used for demo kitchens and food related programming in Surrey and White Rock. The truck should be ready to go by the end of October….stay tuned!
- The renovations for the community kitchen upstairs at the Sources (South Surrey)food bank have begun and once they are complete and Fraser Health approves the kitchen we can begin offering programs from that location…stay tuned for canning and related workshops coming to the community!
- We are working with Kwantlen Polytecnic University on a speakers’ panel during their Eco-Days in February, we are just putting the details together now.
- We will have a rep at World Food Day at Surrey City Hall-see attached poster: World Food Day- Invitation
- We have been working with the City of Surrey to better publicize the community gardens, they came out on the City page this week: http://www.surrey.ca/culture-recreation/7108.aspx
- We are interested in offering workshops on canning, composting etc with the City and are just working out the details…stay tuned!
